Crystal’s Green Smoothie Recipe – I’m sharing with you the green smoothie I drink at home daily.

Not only is this smoothie recipe hydrating, remineralizing, alkalizing and super nutritious; it’s a heavy metal detoxifier.

When I discovered eating raw, living food, green smoothies became an instant staple. To be honest I did not like them at first, but trust me, they grow on you. The healthier you eat, the more you crave healthy food.

I believe it’s important to fill our body with hydrating, easy to digest food in the morning. During sleep, our body is fasting so when we wake we need to be gentle with ourselves and ease back into heavy food.

I feel my best when I get my green smoothie in the morning and sets me up for the rest of my day.

You can sub chlorella with any greens powder but chlorella and cilantro work synergistically to remove heavy metals from your system.

A few years ago I was getting laser tattoo removal and I got really sick with heavy metal poisoning. I read adding cilantro and chlorella to your smoothies is just as effective as chelation therapy.

I consistently did this for 40 days and it worked, my health really improved.  Now as maintenance I still have this smoothie daily.

Clinical studies have shown that heavy metal chelation with chlorella and cilantro can remove an average of 87% lead, 91% of mercury, and 74% aluminum within 42 days!

Cilantro is best used in conjunction with chlorella because it mobilizes more toxins then it can carry out of the body, it may flood the connective tissue (where the nerves reside) with metals, that were previously stored in safer hiding places. This can cause re-toxificaiton if another binding agent isn’t used to help rid the body of the heavy metals that are ‘found’ in their hiding places throughout the body.

Green smoothies are also a great way to get in those extra greens! Most of us don’t enjoy eating salads all day; I sure don’t! I would highly recommend a good blender such as a vitamix to produce a really smooth result.

When using a vitamix, always add the easy to blend ingredients and liquid first and your frozen ingredients in last. This will ensure a really smooth, easy to blend result.

It’s also important to change up your greens every now and then. You can sub spinach for chard, arugula, kale, romaine or green lettuce and swap your herbs to include parsley, basil or even dill.

  • Blender


  • 1 large handful spinach
  • 1 small handful cilantro
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 fresh banana peeled
  • 1/2 cup frozen mango
  • 1 lemon peeled
  • 1 apple cored and chopped
  • 1 thumb ginger peeled
  • 1 tbsp mesquite powder or maca
  • 1 tsp chlorella powder
  • 1 dash ceylon cinnamon


  • Place all ingredients in a high-speed blender and blend until smooth.
